Swimmer diving into indoor swimming pool

Introduction

Our Summer Holiday Programme is now available to book through Leisure Hub.  This is our largest holiday programme with classes across all three centres at a variety of times.  An outline on class dates can be found on our Summer Activities cans be found here (link to Summer website) and details on how to book through Leisure Hub can be found below by selecting ‘How to Book’. A full timetable of classes and prices can be found on the booking page. 
In addition to the advertised classes, we are planning the following classes: Aqua Active, Intro to Diving, Intro to Highboard Diving, Underwater Hockey and Stand Up Paddle boarding. Please register your interest in these classes by emailing swimming@eastdunbarton.gov.uk and we will contact you with further details once these have been confirmed.
Prior to booking, please take time to read the entry criteria (below) for each class as refunds will not be given if the participant is not eligible for the class. If you are in any doubt, please email  us with any questions you may have, swimming@eastdunbarton.gov.uk. Where age groups are given, this is the age of the child on 29 June 2026.

Courses and Entry Criteria

All bookings are made through Leisure Hub

1. If you have a Leisure Hub Account:

  • Log in as normal and check your ‘My linked members’
    • If the child you wish to book shows here – go to Course Hub and book your class. Make sure you book the child in and not an adult!
    • If the child you wish to book does not show – add them at this point using the ‘Add new linked person’ button. Then go to Course Hub and book your class.

2. If you have children, or have had children in any of our activities, you will be a member with us and you only need to create your Leisure Hub account. Use the ‘I’m a member and I want to create an account’ link here. You will need to contact us for your account number to register.

3. If you have never attended any of our classes you will need to register.

For 2 and 3 above, remember that once the account is created you will need to add the child / children that you wish to attend. This is important to avoid putting the adult into a child’s class.  Please add the child from the Home page using ‘My linked members’

IMPORTANT

Please ensure that you read the T&Cs and the entry criteria, links on this page, as classes are non refundable. New applicants MUST not book Improvers classes, these are only for children in our lessons. Any booking for these classes will be cancelled and no refund issued.

Are you looking for a small size swimming group which is highly individualised? You’re in luck! Back by popular demand we are offering Bespoke Swimming where each course is tailored to your group’s needs. Bespoke Swimming takes place in the teaching pool, however if required, please contact Swimming Development to discuss other options. You decide who attends this course (maximum 4 participants per booking) so gather your friends and book into this unique swimming experience. This class offers a unique alternative to individual lessons as the pool is booked exclusively for your group. Please contact us to register your interest in these classes. 

Booking Note

These classes are not currently timetabled for 2026.

Courses take place in the teaching / training pool. Pupils will be introduced to the core aquatic skills and to stroke basics. Lessons may incorporate water safety and MINI POLO! 

Entry Criteria

For children who are moving from our Aquafun 3 classes or those new to our swimming lessons. If your child attends lessons swimming lessons at another pool, they must start at this class, no matter their skill level. Our teachers will assess them on the first day.

Children must be 5 years old by 29 June 2026 to attend this class.

These classes are timetabled for Summer 2026

Courses take place in the teaching / training pool. Pupils will work on relevant technique, skills and aquatic activities. These lessons may incorporate some water safety and Mini Polo!

Entry Criteria

Only For children currently in our lessons at Swim Skills 1A or 1B or children who have attended a Beginners class and been assessed to attend. Please do not book this class if you are not in our lessons.

These classes are timetabled for Summer 2026.

Courses take place in the main pool. Pupils will work on relevant technique, skills and aquatic activities. These lessons may incorporate some water safety.

Entry Criteria

Only For children currently in our lessons at Swim Skills 2 or children who have attended a Improvers class and been assessed to attend. Please do not book this class if you are not in our lessons.

These classes are NEW for Summer 2026

Courses take place in the main pool. Pupils will work on relevant technique, skills and aquatic activities. These lessons may incorporate some water safety.

Entry Criteria

Only For children currently in our lessons at Swim Skills 3 or 4 or children who have attended a Intermediate class and been assessed to attend. Please do not book this class if you are not in our lessons.

These classes are NEW for Summer 2026.

 

Run over 3 days, the Junior Lifesaving course is for our more advanced swimmers (Swim Skills 4). We will introduce the basic skills required to keep swimmers safe, carry out effective rescues and some basic first aid. This course will be a mix of theory, first aid and practical pool sessions.

This course is not certificated.

Entry Criteria

Children must be aged 10 and over and be able to swim at least 50 metres demonstrating 2 stokes and be comfortable in deep water without goggles. This class is suitable for children at SS4 and above.

This class is timetabled for Summer 2026.

Children will learn the basic skills and shapes for Artistic Swimming and put these to music and perform short routines.

Entry Criteria

Children must be able to swim at least 50 metres demonstrating 2 stokes and be comfortable in deep water without goggles. This class is suitable for children at SS3 and above.

This class is timetabled for Summer 2026.

This course introduces the FUNdamentals of this exciting team sport. Children will learn ball handling skills, basic teamwork and of course, play games of polo!

Our Intro to Polo will take place in the teaching pool and is open to non swimmers and beginners as well, fun for everyone!

Entry Criteria

Children do not need any previous experience and must be aged 5 and over. This class will take place in shallow water and is suitable for children at SS1A, SS1B, SS2, Beginners and Improvers.

These classes are timetabled for Summer 2026.

We are delighted to reintroduce this class - A unique diving class for children. This class will work on techniques to develop racing starts for swimmers through fun activities. In addition to dive starts we shall also introduce some basic techniques for high board diving so any budding Tom Daley’s can get involved. This is also an ideal taster should you wish to attend our Highboard Diving course.

Entry Criteria

Children must be able to swim at least 25m and be comfortable in deep water without goggles. This class is suitable for children at SS2 and above, Intermediate and Developers.

This class is timetabled for Summer 2026.

For children currently in our programme who may be struggling with a specific stroke. Clinics will take place in the either teaching or main pool and will concentrate on fault correction in one particular stroke, (as advertised), providing extra support for our swimmers. Other strokes will be incorporated in the lesson structure but will not be the main focus.

Entry Criteria

Classes that take place in the teaching pol are suitable for all children at Swim Skills 1A and above. Classes that take place in the Main Pool are only suitable for children at Swim Skills 2 and above.

These classes are not currently timetabled for 2026.

These lessons are available for adults and children no matter what ability. The 1-1 lesson will take place in either the main pool. These lessons may be suitable if you have a fear of water, require help in a particular area or maybe just having that personal aspect gives you confidence to learn to swim.

Entry Criteria

Children must be 5 years of age or over there is no upper age limit. Adults are welcome to book 1-1 lessons.

*Where possible we shall have use of 1 lane in the main pool but participants may not get exclusive use of the pool. On occasion the teacher may decide to use the teaching / training pool but an exclusive area is not guaranteed.

Teachers will usually be in the water with the learner, but on occasion this may not be necessary. 

These lessons are timetabled for Summer 2026.

Our Intro to Highboard Diving introduces swimmers to this exciting sport. Children (and adults) will be shown the basic moves and shapes from poolside before moving onto the springboards (1 and 3 metres) and platforms (5 and 10 metres).

Entry Criteria

These courses take place at the Royal Commonwealth Pool in Edinburgh and participants must make their own transport arrangements as this is not provided.
Children must be able to swim 25m of any stroke, be able to tread water for 1 minute, be comfortable in very deep water without goggles and not be afraid of heights. The class is suitable for children at Swim Skills 2 and above, ‘Intermediate’ and ‘Developers’.

Children must be at least 10 years of age to attend. This class is also suitable for adults.

These courses are provisionally timetabled for Summer and October 2026.

 

Children will learn the basic skills for finning through activities and games. If you have your own fins please bring these.

Booking Note:

Children must be able to swim at least 25 metres. This class is suitable for children at Swim Skills3 and above, Intermediates and Developers.

This class is not currently timetabled for Summer 2026.

This exciting class introduces children to the aquatic disciplines of water polo, artistic swimming, lifesaving and survival swimming Children will develop stroke technique for the first part of the lesson and then be introduced to a different discipline each day.

Booking Note:

Children must be able to swim at least 25 metres demonstrating 2 stokes and be comfortable in deep water without goggles. This class is suitable for children at SS3 and above, Intermediate and Developers. Children must be 10 years of age to attend. 

This class if for children and young people who may not be able to manage in our Beginners classes and introduces basic water movement and submersion / breathing. Each child will be given tasks to suit their needs.

Entry Criteria

Children / Young people must be 5 years of age or over and must be accompanied in the water by an adult. Adults are expected to participate.

This class can be booked either as one lessons or in multiples If you wish to discuss if this class is suitable for your child please contact us.

Classes run over 3 consecutive days and are open to adults who cannot swim and are maybe frightened of the water to adults that can swim a little but are maybe worried to go out of their depth.

Entry Criteria

Open to non swimmers and swimmers aged 16 and over.

If you can swim a length comfortably, this class is not suitable for you.

Classes are timetabled for Summer 2026.
